31 days: on being willing and able

I am joining the Nester plus quite a few other bloggers in a 31 day writing challenge. You can write about whatever you want, and I choose to write on the search for a Spirit-led life. Join me, won't you?

On being willing and able

The first step for getting anything done is our willingness. We cannot get in shape, quit smoking, have a baby, keep a clean house or find a job if we don't make it a priority. We need time to look into the gap between where we are and where we want to be, and then trace the steps that will take us there.

I believe the same applies to living a Spirit-led life. We can want all we want. We can plan all we want. We can boast all we want. But if we don't make it a priority, it will never happen. As the saying goes, 'those who don't want, find an excuse, those who want, find a way'.

There are no layouts for living a Godly life, which means we have to figure it out by ourselves. I cannot replicate someone's steps and expect to duplicate their results if my heart is not in the right place. So the first thing I do is to let go, to surrender, and to allow guidance to come. And then I take the steps to allow those changes to happen in my life, to go from theory to reality.
